How Arizona wooed TSMC’s billions

Christine Mackay, the city of Phoenix’s economic development director, called Monday a “great b-day.” But it’s not her birthday — it’s “billions day,” she said.

Two announcements made waves in Arizona on March 3: Mayo Clinic‘s plans for a $1.9 billion expansion of its hospital campus in Phoenix, followed by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s proposed $100 billion of additional investment in its north Phoenix complex.
